Accessibility Statement

Hello, It's Me® is built for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Accessibility is not a feature we added. It is the foundation of everything we make. This statement explains our commitment, where we stand, and how to reach us if something does not work for you.

Our commitment

We are committed to making our platform, our app, and this website usable by everyone, including people who use assistive technology. We design for a wide range of abilities, reading levels, and ways of interacting with technology. We treat accessibility as ongoing work, not a one-time task.

WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance statement

Hello, It's Me® aims to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1 at Level AA. WCAG 2.1 Level AA is the international standard we use to evaluate whether our website, mobile app, and platform features are perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for people with disabilities.

We design and test toward WCAG 2.1 Level AA across the platform, the app, and this website. We document our conformance work and make that documentation available to verified partners and investors on request.

Conformance is an ongoing effort. When we identify gaps, we prioritize fixes based on impact to members and care partners.

What we have built in

  • Clear, simple language written at accessible reading levels.
  • Strong color contrast between text and backgrounds.
  • Text that can be resized without breaking the layout.
  • Full keyboard navigation for people who do not use a mouse.
  • Descriptive text for images, so screen readers can describe them.
  • Labels and structure that work with screen readers and other assistive tools.
  • Visible focus indicators so you always know where you are on the page.

Supported assistive technologies

We design our platform and app to work with commonly used assistive technologies, including:

  • Screen readers such as VoiceOver (iOS and macOS), TalkBack (Android), and NVDA or JAWS (Windows), where members and staff use desktop browsers.
  • Screen magnification and system display scaling on mobile and desktop.
  • Keyboard-only navigation and visible focus indicators on web experiences.
  • Voice control and switch access on supported mobile devices.
  • System-level text size, contrast, and motion settings on iOS and Android.

If you use assistive technology that does not work well with Hello, It's Me®, contact us using the information below so we can investigate and improve support.

Known limitations

We are honest about where we have more work to do. Some areas of the platform may not yet fully meet our target. When we know about a limitation, we work to fix it and we welcome reports that help us find issues faster.

Contact us about accessibility

If you have trouble using any part of Hello, It's Me®, or you want to suggest an improvement, contact us. Tell us what you were trying to do, what device and assistive technology you were using, and what happened. We take every report seriously and we respond.
