I am a native of San Francisco, CA. I migrated to the Southeast following high school to pursue a college education. I attended Alabama State University where I received a bachelor’s degree in science for Criminal Justice with a specialization in Juvenile Justice. I began to work with juveniles at several juvenile detention centers in the Atlanta metropolitan area. While working at these centers I began to develop a passion for helping people. I began to understand individuals' needs more through growth and development. I realized I had a natural gift for understanding, rapport building with trust, and active listening. I eventually gained an interest in working with the community. The change allowed me to become a social worker. Being in the social work field allowed me to help all members of the family and provide the services needed to assist in any shortcomings.
